The bosses
in this game are pretty damn difficult.. unless in each
'dungeon' i'm supposed to spend sometime going back and
forth leveling my characters... the boss absolutely flattened
me when i first met up with it ... but the second i barely
held in the battle and finished him off with a little
luck ....
The story becomes VERY interesting ... just when you think
the story is somewhat typical they throw a couple plot
twists here and there ^_^ ... and the music is also very
effective and powerful during these scenes as well ...
hoo hoo haa haa, i love it ...
once again ... i won't spoil anything for you.. unless
you ask ^_^ ...
Xenosaga
Episode Timeline
as taken from the Xenogears Perfect Works
Episode
I : Cosmos War Era ( 15,000-10,000 years before Xenogears
)
The setting of Episode I began on Earth and takes place
approximately 15,000 years ago. At this time, mankind
has started looking for a new home. Eventually, mankind
finds a habitable planet in the M24 Star Cloud of the
Sagittarius region. This planet thereafter is named "Neo
Jerusalem". After settling and colonizing at this
planet, mankind continue to aim for the heart of the universe.
About 10,000 years ago, the human race have conquered
most of the Milky Way. The Cosmo War, after it has broken
out, gradually intensified. Episode I focus on the intensification
and the outbreak of this war. While other events takes
place, it was this episode where the Deus System was originally
developed.
Episode II : The origin of a new Era ( 10,000 years
before Xenogears )
Intellectual life forms have begun to increase in the
planet where Fei lived. Emperor Cain became the founder
of the new generation of mankind, and was worshipped as
a god. Abel, the sole survivor of the Eldridge after it
crashed, was repulsed by this belief. He begins to look
for a new way of life. The story then progresses to Episode
II with such exposition. Cain at this era, abide by his
mission, which was to revive Deus. Cain never intended
to "Liberate the humans" as seen in Xenogears.
Episode III : The Zebium Civilization ( 4,000 years
before Xenogears )
Episode III takes place at an age when a scientific civilization
developes to an advancement that is very similar to the
real world of modern time. A majority of people at this
age were not able to leave descendents due to a defective
gene that began to spread when humans attained intellectual
zenith. Kim (Abel's 1st transmigration) tried to overcome
the gene obstacle by nanotechnology, or fails by Miang's
Plan. Emeralda was born at this era, and nanotechnology
was later revived by Taura, one of the three Sages of
Shevat.
Episode IV : Solaris Campaign ( 500-400 years before
Xenogears )
The Ignas continent of about 500 years ago is the setting
for Episode IV. Emperor Cain judged that the evolution
of homo sapien is at its final stage and founded Solaris.
He attempted to execute immediate ground rule. However,
the artificial humans at this stage evolved to the point
where they have the ability to use ether. This eventually
lead to a war that was fought between Solaris and the
land dwellers. This war is generally called "The
great war of 500 years ago". Before long, the war
was ended swiftly by "Day of the Collapse".
.
Episode V : Xenogears ( present day, present time
)
Fei becomes the hero of this episode in the year 9999,
he lived his initial life at Lahan Village. The Deus Resurrection
program was also nearing completion. Fei was not borned
in this village. In fact he was carried to Chief Lee's
house in Lahan Village by a masked man about three years
ago. At that time, Fei was damaged both mentally and physically,
to the point where he lost all of his current memory.
After the attack on Lahan Village, Fei becomes triggered
by this event and began his walk on the road of fate.
Episode VI : The Future ( the future )
Although not much is known about this episode, it appears
that the time and setting lies just behind that of Episode
V. The information about Episode VI is disclosed until
future notice and also because it is the last point in
the Xenogears world.
although original from the Xenogears Perfect Works, the
translation is from : http://www.the-ethos.org/
furthermore, most or all this information is learned through
finishing Xenogears.. especially the 2nd disc..
Disclaimer : while this information is all Xenogears,
Xenosaga doesn't necassirly have to confine itself to
the list already published... Episode 5 could be changed
considerably by the time the series reaches it in 4 years....
although the whole aspect of each episode should be apparent
and resemble this script .

well now
here's the part of the japanese game that you should
know the japanese language in order to figure where
the hell TO GO ! ! !... ugh... i think i wondered around
the new spaceship, the Durander, for about an hour before
i finally found out what to do ... and if that wasn't
enough... after that i finally get to this huge underground
spacestation city in space, which i figure is the closest
equivalent to the world map, and i'm lost again with
no direction ... sigh...
but one thing was certainly tops... after we reached
the huge Spacestation city, everyone went to the beach...
good lord Shion is hot ... i mean damn... as soon as
i have the capibilities to capture screens of my ps2
games, i'll definetly post some sexy candid shots of
Shion ... KosMos was absent from this whole beach scene..
but she's an andriod anyhow.. no skin....
Scan
of the Day
i found
this picture in my Xenosaga strategy guide to be very
interesting... it shows the size comparison between
the 3 main ships in the game ... in the begining you
start off the the WoGlinde ( the grey ship ).. but due
to its explosion, invansion, and so forth.. you are
no longer on that...
drifting through space on the escape pod, The Elza picks
you up ... thats the very very very tiny ship.. it certainly
is not that small on the inside, christ...
and then later on the Durander picks you up and that
is your means of travel until you get to the Spacestation
city...

ok i found a picture of shion in
her Sexy bikini ...
the whole
scene of the character's talking back and forth of the
origin of the space station city in space has a number
of other positions as well ^_^ ... this pic reminds
me ALOT of that one scene in the hit movie The Net staring
Sandra Bullock.. where Sandra was tanning out on the
beach typing up stuff on her computer... Computer +
Bikini girl = damn sexy ...
but besides Shion in her Sexy Bikini.. there's this
site that has been collecting a spread of pictures of
all the panty shots they could find in Xenosaga : http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-PaloAlto/9131/
.. and its also where i got this pic ^_^
and one more thing : those are in-game graphics .. no
FMV ..
damn... one more thing... on that site with all the
panty shots is also a link to download a movie of gameplay
using the HDD.. and holy christ.. that little 1:26 worth
of movie would probably take about 3 some minutes without
the Harddrive... damn i need one of those things.. Sony
plans on mass producing HDD in japan next month, and
in america probably around August... a much needed instrument...

Currently : Lost ^_^
sigh,
some things have happend here and there but overall
i really haven't gotten anywhere... but with boredom
comes experimentation... so messing around with a couple
things i found that i've had access to 2 of the games
largest mini games the whole time ^_^ ... these 2 games
are the Xenocard Game, and the Casino Network ... both
these two mini game can be accessed by any save point
with the EVS tag on it.. and then you goto your key
items page and select either the Card Passport, or the
Casino Passport...
I'll explain the Casino Network first because its the
easiest to explain ... the Casion Network has 3 options..
the first is an exchange of currency.. the casino uses
coins.. not gold... 10 coins cost 100 Gold .. ugh, exchange
rates suck.. and you can also exchange vice versa...
but besides coins -> gold, you can exchange coin
for normal items, semi-rare items, and rare items...
not too shabby ...
the next option is the Slot machine .. fairly straight
forward... you can select 5 options.. top across, mid
across, bottom across, bottom to top diagonal, and top
to bottom diagonal... each option you can wager any
amount of coins from 0 - max... and then you win the
amount wager multiplied by an amount of whatever combination
appears.. its a basic slot machine.. no tricks or anything
and the other option is Video Poker... also straight
forward... hands dealt cost 5 coins.. winning combinations
are on the bottom of the screen ... so far i've won
every hand i was dealt, so it must be easy.. it can't
be luck because the slot machine didn't give me jack
... but the new little feature of poker is after you
hand is done you play high card, low card to double,
quadruple, x8, and x16 your winning hand providing you
choose the higher or lower card... making money is very
easy this way...
The card game is somewhat complicated... but for you
Magic players it's probably quite basic... because,
to me, the rules look quite the same... before the card
battle you build you deck of 40 cards... there are Battlers,
Events, and Simulations... in play, Batters are like
your summon creatures... when you have some Batters
in your hand, during the Set phase you can place them
on the side lines to be placed into Battle during the
Move phase of the next round... Players have about 30
health, and the game is over when one dies... ^_^, i
really don't know the full details of playing the game
at the moment... i got wasted both time i tried to play
... oh well ...
The Card game has a 2 player battle option.. so you
can compose 2 decks of your cards and then play a friend
... you can have 6 decks for Xenocard.. and each deck
can be made up of cards from other decks ... unlike
Final Fantasy VIII and IX, cards are found singularly
but in packs.. Starter Decks and Booster Packs can be
purchased from vendors.. so just like in real life you
can waste your hard earned cash buying tons of booster
packs to find the rare cards you're looking for ....
but hidden in the world are Promo Packs with rare cards..
i still have no idea where the 'Virtua On' type battling
mini game is... i know i'm close, its gotta be around
here somewhere... once i find i'll let you know ...
^_^... but in the meantime looks like i'm wondering
about the spacestation trying to find the 'next level'.

Times i've looked to gamefaqs.com to find out where
the hell i'm supposed to go : 2
Gameovers : 7
Time i've won a game of Xenocard : 0
well
thanks to the world of gamers at gamefaqs.com i've
found out what i was doing wrong, although i would
have figured it out eventually.. maybe like an hour
more ... but i did find something out that i was looking
for, but i don't know how to get there at the moment
^_^ ... oh well...
the story continues on its un-predictable course..
i sorta know whats going on, but i don't know anything
of this whole conspiracy plan going on between the
'evil' humans .... i think i know how earth was destroyed...
and the connection between characters is starting
to solidify... i want the english version of this
game ^_^ ....
anywho, i don't think i'll get alot of Xenogamin'
done over the weekend.. i'm going home for the sake
of raving.. ta ta..

well
that boss was the most annoying yet.. not only does
he use this cheap move where it completely kills
me team with no warning ... but when i actually
do kill him, he revives himself... but since i spent
about 3 or so hours leveling my characters... his
wave attack hardly killed my team, and my attacks
beat him in the ground.. he may have revived himself
twice, but the third lashing was just too much as
he finally faded away ... how annoying ... but my
characters are quite pimp at the moment.. which
is actually probably the level they are supposed
to be at ^_^ ....
anywho.. the story digs very deep within the characters..
SPOILER_TIME.run();
<SPOILER><that whole
stage with the damn annoying boss takes place within
the consciousness of Kos-Mos's server.. digging
in her mind reveals many dark secrets of both Shion's
and Jr's past.. Jr seems to be some type of clone
.. number 666 actually... which is most likely why
he is different from the other clones.. his brother
who runs the Kukai Foundation is number 669 .. and
one of the villian humans is another number.. most
likely 668.. but this information dosen't compare
to the magnitude of Shion and KosMos .. Shion seems
to be responsible for the creation and invasion
of the gnosis.. and after the gnosis completely
ruled earth.. she headed the research department
for creating KosMos .. a soul andriod for dealing
with Gnosis.. however.. after the project's failure/success..
KosMos journey'd to earth to rid it of gnosis..
as she aproached from space the gnosis fired a large
energy burst at her.. to counterattack, she also
fired a large energy shot to match the attack..
her energy enveloped the gnosis energy.. and severely
overpowered it.. the shot then hit the earth, completely
destroying it, and most of the solar system ...
after such destruction.. KosMos was crucified by
the humans.. as you see at the end of the dream
sequence in KosMos's server.. she is roped to a
stone cross in some cavern.. very powerful stuff...
and the music.. i'd expect no less from Mitsuda...
the religous references continue></SPOILER>
well i tried to make it somewhat unreadable / easy
to not read ... anywho ... that little spoiler is
something that i think i picked from the cinematic
sequence ^_^ .. i'm fairly sure thats what went
on, but who knows.. i may have missed something
very important to the point...

Gameovers : ~17?
ugh ... i swear... this game has one of the most
diversly difficult bosses every assembled... i don't
think i've ever not died on a boss at least once...
especially after the 15hr. marker... well anywho..
i think that i'm in the final dungeon ... maybe..
maybe maybe... maybe not ^_^ ....
the whole aspect of this game is very diversified...
it seems the gameplay is on the opposite side of
the coin than story... what about the story ? ...
very wicked... good good good lord.. it is wicked...
it reminds me of the wicked anime that i like ...
such as Lain... Evangelion... and to a lesser extent
Boogie Pop Phantom... this is how far stories in
video games have come ... simply marvelous... i
cannot wait to see the ending...
and another that i cannot wait to see...... is what
the ESRB will rank this game... it is DEFINETLY
not an E rating... but a T rating ? ... Xenosaga
is pushing the T rating.. i woundn't be surprised
if Xenosaga landed an M rating... if it doesn't,
there will be many cuts and censorship... ick ...
considering the hellish difficulty... i wonder if
the american version will be dumbed down...
KJ asks : hey how many other games have YOU played
that thats sort of thing happens?
i never
really played Xenogears for its gameplay... for
most video games, i regard the story as the highest
quality... sigh... but for most squaresoft games,
its the gameplay ( Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy
Tactics, any Final Fantasy )... not in the case
of Xenogears.. i boldly declare that it has the
largest story of any video game.. period... and
besides the shear quantity of time in the story,
the quality pushes the religious bounds as well
as the character aspect... every aspect of the game
that has nothing to do with the fact its a game
is the best of the entire industry...
and just the shear fact that "no one"
has played it proves this point ^_^ ..
